What it is
Farcaster is to Twitter what Ethereum is to PayPal — a permissionless protocol with the network state living onchain (well, on a hub network). Anyone can build a client, anyone can build apps on top.
Frames and Mini Apps
Frames let any URL embedded in a cast become interactive — a button, a form, a poll, a mini game, a checkout. Mini Apps are the next evolution: full apps that run inside the feed, with deep linking to Base transactions.

- Mini App: a full app inside Farcaster, ~iframe-like
- Base transactions can be triggered from Mini Apps in one tap
Why it matters for Base
Most Base products distribute through Farcaster. Onchain Summer drops, Zora mints, AI agent demos, memecoin launches — all surface in the feed. If you build on Base, you build for Farcaster too.
