Bridging to Base

How to move assets in and out of Base safely.

Native bridge
bridge.base.org
Withdrawal delay
~7 days (native)
Fast bridges
Across, LayerZero, Stargate

Two paths in

You can deposit from Ethereum mainnet via the official Base bridge (cheap, slow back) or use a third-party bridge like Across (fast both ways, small fee).

  • Native bridge: free deposit, 7-day withdrawal
  • Across / Stargate: 1–3 minutes both ways, ~0.1% fee
  • Coinbase: send from Coinbase exchange directly to Base (zero fee)

USDC vs USDC.e

Base supports native USDC issued by Circle directly on Base. Older bridged USDC.e from other chains exists but native USDC is the standard now.

Common pitfalls

New users often try to send Ethereum mainnet ETH directly to a Base address — that does NOT work. ETH must move through a bridge to land on Base.

WARNINGAlways double-check you are on the official bridge URL. Bridge phishing sites are common.
